I have to share this.
Recently, I’ve seen more and more of my teenager circle so fixated on the amount of likes, the quality of the posts, close friends account, pressing the wrong buttons that will affect their whole world, and more.
Social Media, or in a not as cringey way, (theres no world better nvm), has taken over as suspected, and it has really taken over the landscape of the world even more post AI.
Our generation has become so accustomed to the fact the a small misclick, misjudgement can affect the world, and it’s radicalising instead of rationalising us.
Here’s my hot takes on social media among teenagers 🙂
[January Junctures] My Hot Takes
Take #1 No One Really Cares That Deeply About Your Posts
One day you scroll on your phone, trying to cook up the perfect post to please others, and you zone out and realise, that you’re actually the lonely one who is trapped in a mental cage doing everything for people who don’t care.
Social media has turned us into objective people and radicalised humanity, turning us into creatures that only seek for attention through the number count.
The posts are just photos, it doesn’t prove how good or bad your life is. Truth behold, it doesn’t even matter anyway.
Take #2 Does Requesting Close Friends Accidentally Really Matter?
Brother, it’s just a misclick. they’ll just see the request, And they’ll forget about you five seconds later. If they even remember you’re, that means you’re important to them. sometimes overlook small things and those for things may affect the emotional state substantially and in an incredible amount.
It happened to me as well, I accidentally requested a mutual’s close friends, and I just regretted the misclick, but it isn’t that serious?
No one cares. If they even care, you’re important to them. Do what makes you happy instead of chasing the fame, clout, because that will disappear after school years, and we’ll all find it childish looking back. Enjoy real life, and get off instagram 🙂
